Ethics

  • The coach will hold the clients agenda at all times.
  • The coach's role is the clients growth and movement forward.
  • The coach will respect and honour the clients values.
  • The coach will elicit responses and avoid imparting advice during the session.
  • The coach will hold confidential anything that is said by the client (save in extremis).
  • The coach will honour the coaching contract to the best of their ability, in the spirit of coaching.
  • The coach will keep ethical distance between the contract and other work, or the possibility of work.
  • If in the course of coaching, NLP interventions are used, they are only used by Master Practitioners, they are appropriate, congruent, and with full regard to the clients ecology and when being paid for by the clients employers, within the spirit of that contract.
  • The coach can and will honour their own values, and if necessary turn down a client or cease working with a client where those values are being violated.
  • The coach will have been certified as trained to ICF standards, will be coached on a permanent ongoing basis, will be supervised for quality control and ongoing development.
